Why Standard Weight Advice Often Disappoints

Most general weight-loss advice assumes a body that responds predictably to a calorie deficit. With PCOS, insulin resistance frequently sits underneath the difficulty, which is why the same effort can produce noticeably less than it does for someone else — and why being told to simply try harder is both unhelpful and inaccurate.

Coaching here starts from that reality rather than arguing with it: steadier carbohydrate distribution, protein and fibre at every meal, and a level of activity that supports insulin sensitivity without becoming another source of stress.

PCOS is a medical condition. This is lifestyle and nutrition coaching designed to sit alongside the care your doctor or gynaecologist provides — it does not diagnose, treat or manage PCOS, and it never replaces prescribed treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will losing weight cure my PCOS?

No. Weight management often improves symptoms for many people, but PCOS is a medical condition and no coaching programme cures it. Treatment decisions belong with your doctor.

Do I need to cut out rice and roti?

No. Portion and pairing matter far more than eliminating a staple. A plan you resent is a plan you abandon, and Indian meals are the point of the Thali Planner.

How quickly should I expect to see change?

It varies considerably between people, and no outcome is promised. Progress with insulin resistance is usually slower and steadier than general weight loss, which is exactly why the plan is built to be sustainable.
